Der INNOCENT AWARD für den besten Indie Film 2019 ging nach Belgien. Der junge Regisseur MICHAEL VERMAERCKE schaffte es mit seinem ersten langen Spielfilm MEMENTO MORI.

Ein großartiger Film und eine tolle Leistung für einen Indiefilm. Michael selbst war völlig überrascht, da ihn die Nominierung im Spam Ordner erreichte und er somit keine Ahnung von dieser hatte. „The funny thing is I almost didn’t read the message, because all of your mails where put into gmail’s spam folder. The moment I decided to clean up my spam folder, which was long overdue, I noticed the email with the message „Congratulations, Memento Mori won the Innocent Award.“ A complete surprise for me, which made my day. At the same time, it’s always nice to be appreciated with an indie film project where cast & crew worked hard to make it happen with a small budget.“
